• Duties/Responsibilities

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, research testing methods and conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and processes quality by designing testing methods.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, material costs.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.  
  • Strategizing the development process, including raw materials and machinery.
  • Analyzing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Drawing up production schedules and budgets for projects.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams and departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to help across multiple departments.
  • Leadership ability to manage challenges and oversee employees.
  • Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Must be able to type, sit for long periods of time, and lift up to 15lbs at a time.
  • Advance computer skills and software management experience.

   

  Desired Skills

  •  2-3 years of experience of engineering experience.

  This position will run a horizontal/vertical, boring/mill lathe machine.

 

Job Description 

• Set up parts in the machine
• Programming/operating CNC machine per part specifications
• Milling and boring parts to machine tolerance specs
• Regular machine maintenance
• Works independently, but as part of a time with minimal supervision
• All other duties assigned

Required Skills

• Strong technical machining knowledge and understanding of blueprints
• Machine programming knowledge
• Experience with horizontal/vertical mills and lathes

I&M Machine and Fabrication Corp is looking for an experienced Estimator.

We are a custom metal fabrication facility with over 50 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry. If you have a background in fabrication, welding, cutting, machining, industrial metal finishing, and have estimating experience, we would like to hear from you.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Prepare and assist with proposal preparations
• Work with customers to refine specific requirements of a job
• Provide pricing and lead time information
• Provide complete estimates and supporting information to customers and internal processes

Qualifications

• 2+ years estimating in a job shop environment preferred
• Must have knowledge of steel and steel processes
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Must possess communication and people skills
• Prefer a strong background in metal fabrication and machining processes
